One method, every player.

The Every Player Method helps coaches get the best from anyone they coach. It gives you a clear philosophy, better-designed sessions and the psychology to connect with every player in front of you.

Developed from elite experience at Juventus and the FAW National Performance Centres, and applied across six sports as Sports Manager at Bahrain Rugby Club.

Great drills aren't enough

Most coaching courses teach you what to deliver. Very few teach you how players think, how to build a session that works for them, or how to get a little better every week.

Dan Grimes laughing and playing with a young player during a Juventus Academy session
It works with one group but not another.

Sessions that suit senior men fall flat with under-12 girls. The coach needs to adapt, not the player.

I don't know why that session went wrong.

Without a clear way to review sessions, the same problems come back week after week.

I tell them, but it doesn't stick.

Only part of what a coach communicates is the words. Body language, tone and concrete language decide whether the message lands.

The Every Player Method

Three proven ideas. One way of coaching.

The method combines performance psychology, continuous improvement and practical session design into one framework. It works whether you coach juniors or veterans, men or women, in a team or individual sport.

Psychology

Session design

Principles for building sessions that look like the real game and work for the players in front of you.

  • Game-realistic, not drill-heavy
  • Everyone active, as much as possible
  • Progress and regress on the spot
  • Adapt for age, gender and stage
Coaching in practice

What coaches work on

Alongside SEAS, the method changes what coaches say, how they say it and the environment they create. Each topic is taught in full, with practical tools, through mentoring and session observation.

Concrete language

Turn instructions into actions

"You need to concentrate" becomes "Eyes on me".

Simple, concrete words that players of any age can act on straight away.

How the message actually lands

They read your body before they hear your words.

Performance goals, not result goals

Win or lose, the review is the same.

Creating the environment

Be an inventor, not an actor

The experience you build is the one they remember.

Why the coach is responsible for the environment players walk into, and how rituals shape it.

Services

Ways to work together

For individual coaches and the clubs they work in. Every service is built on The Every Player Method.

1:1 Mentoring

Individual coaches

Regular sessions that develop your coaching philosophy, session planning and the psychology of your coaching.

  • Monthly or block programmes
  • Online or in person
  • Personal development plan

Session observation

Coaches & clubs

I watch you coach live or on video and score the session against the SEAS standard, then we talk through what's working and what to change next.

  • Live or video review
  • Scored on the SEAS checklist
  • One focus to work on next

Reports

Coaches & organisations

Written evaluations that score each SEAS quality from 1 to 5 and compare your self-score with mine, with clear actions to follow.

  • Coach and session evaluations
  • Self-score vs observer score
  • Actions for the next block
How it works

From first call to better sessions

Every piece of work follows the same Kaizen cycle: understand, observe, evaluate, improve.

  1. Free call

15 minutes to talk about you, your players and what you want to improve.

  2. Observe

I watch a session, live or on video, to see your coaching in context.

  3. Evaluate

You get a scored evaluation across SEAS, with your strengths and clear priorities.

  4. Improve

We work through the priorities one small step at a time, then review.

The evaluation

How your coaching is scored

I observe a session and score each SEAS quality using a checklist of observed behaviours, each marked Did or Did not. You score yourself too, so we can see where your view and mine differ.

  • A checklist of specific behaviours for each quality, rolling up to a 1–5 score

About · Dan Grimes

I've seen how the elite level works. Now I help coaches everywhere work the same way.

I'm Dan Grimes. I've spent 10 years coaching, including as Juventus Academy Head Coach and at the FAW National Performance Centres. At Juventus I worked with Giuseppe Vercelli's SFERA model and saw how much performance psychology changes what happens on the training ground. I went on to lead SFERA CPD for coaches across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

As Sports Manager at Bahrain Rugby Club, I now oversee netball, badminton, Gaelic football, swimming, football and tennis. Working across so many sports has shown me that the principles of good coaching stay the same. The Every Player Method brings together everything I've learned, so any coach can use it with any group they coach.
